Selling Homes, Not Houses
Michelle is a Full-Time Sales Agent with Charis Realty and assists buyers and sellers all over Maryland. Prior to becoming an agent, Michelle worked at Johns Hopkins University for over 10 years, followed by support staff positions at Under Armour and the Howard County Public School System. After mastering her customer service and organization skills in these positions, Michelle decided it was time to combine her expertise with her love of home design and market trends and go after her dream job.
Michelle is often heard saying, “My clients are not just a transaction. They are people with real lives, needs, and goals”. She believes in the importance of thoroughly understanding those needs, works diligently to help them reach their goals, and keeps their best interests in mind at all times. Her #1 goal when working with any client is to alleviate any unnecessary stressors by providing consistent communication throughout the entire process. “My clients always know what’s going on. Whether I’m working with a buyer or seller, it’s a partnership and it requires great communication between my clients and I, as well as between me and the agents who are representing the other side.”
Michelle has traveled everywhere from her home base in Carroll County to western Maryland and as far east as Queen Anne’s County, where she grew up. “I’ve either worked or lived in most counties in Maryland. Having spent the majority of my career working desk jobs, I love that this job gets me outside and on-the-road traveling all over my home state. There’s so much to see and love and when I meet buyers who have no idea where in Maryland they want to settle down, I have a great, broad knowledge I can pull from to help narrow down that perfect location.”
Michelle’s passion for helping people extends into her personal life and community. “Donating to food pantries or shelters is so important to me and it is something I’ve included my daughter in helping with since she was very little. I remember vividly as a child on many occasions having our local fire department or other organizations delivering Thanksgiving dinners or presents to us for the holidays. Without the generosity of our community, there were years my family wouldn’t have had those meals or gifts to give one another. I’ll never forget that and it’s why I’m passionate about giving back.”
