Did you know the Maryland School for the Deaf is located right in downtown Frederick? The school is celebrating it’s 150th anniversary this year!
The strong reputation that this educational institution enjoys has helped to draw a large number of Deaf individuals to the area. In addition, Gallaudet University, the world’s only university designed to be barrier-free for deaf and hard of hearing students, is a commutable-distance away in Washington, DC.
